ACUC In 1969 numerous regional diving councils met together to create the
Association of Canadian Underwater Councils (known as A.C.U.C.) which would
provide a national forum for their interests and concerns.Although this was
A.C.U.C.'s original function, it soon became clear that the Association's
major impact would be in the area of diver training. In the 1960's some of
the other training agencies' standards were extensively used by Canadian
Instructors.
BSAC - British Sub Aqua Club - The governing body of Sport Diving in the UK,
the British Sub Aqua Club has been in existence since 1953 and has
continually been actively promoting underwater exploration, science and
safety in these activities. Based around a network of clubs or Branches,
BSAC offer diver training to a high standard on a voluntary basis with the
emphasis on contributing time and skills to the training of divers and the
running of the branch
CMAS. The World Underwater Federation offers diver training with worldwide
recognition in a system based on stars. CMAS is found often in Europe. You
can find CMAS Dive Schools in 95 coutries. Jacques Cousteau was one of the
founders of CMAS

leader in innovative education. NAUI Worldwide offers a full range of
training programs from Skin Diver through Instructor Course Director, with
dozens of specialty courses including Nitrox and technical diving. Thousands
of member instructors, dive businesses, resorts, and service centers are
located in countries throughout the world
AIDA is the Worldwide Federation for breath-hold diving, AIDA established in
1992 which manages and oversees the recognition of records, organises
competitions, and sets the standards for freedive education. Since 1993,
AIDA International has officiated 181 Official World Records. AIDA is also a
scuba diving organisation.
VDST In the Organisation VDST (Verband Deutscher Sporttaucher e.V.)
Association of German Divers are over 78.000 divers included. All over
Germany you can find around 1000 VDST Dive Center who offer a good
possibility to learn to dive or to dive with other divers.
